COST vs. WEAR
Automotive components have been coated almost since thermal spray has been in existence. Famous applications are shifter forks, and piston rings. In recent years development has been done and there are production applications for the spraying of cylinder liners in aluminum cylinder blocks. Thermal spray has also been used to coat
- crankshafts,
- cylinder block mains and caps,
- and a whole host of other applications.
At CTS, automotive coatings are performed daily. Shifter forks is the most regular of the applications, with alternator circuit base plates a close second. |
