COATED MACHINED PARTS
CTS uses CNC machining technology coupled with robotically applied wear coatings and specialized finishing techniques to produce wear resistant parts for a variety of applications. Our highly developed manufacturing systems result in one stop shopping for wear resistant components from ceramic coated pump sleeves to carbide coated valve parts, CTS can make parts complete and deliver them on time.
Failure analysis is a tool to be used for continuous improvement of industrial equipment, and thermal spray fits nicely into this format. By determining where the heavy wear areas, erosion pattern or corrosion is taking place, you can design your components to make use of thermal spray coating technology and put resistant materials precisely where they are needed most.
The ability to apply coatings to specific areas of a component enables you to design parts out of relatively inexpensive materials, and then coat them with premium, high performance materials only in the areas where it is needed. For example, if you need wear resistance, don't make the part out of white iron or some expensive material, instead make it out of carbon steel and use tungsten carbide to get your wear resistance. Need resistance to salt water? Make your part out of cast iron or mild steel and coat the exposed areas with aluminum. The possibilities are limitless.
